Like a phoenix that rises from the ashes, so we rise. The flames of death will always give way to the rebirth from the ashes. It is from the ashes that we are created. Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, and dust to dust. We will return to the ash, yet we will be reborn. Throughout this season of Lent, we will be looking at what it means to rise “From the Ashes.” We will look in depth at Jesus’ baptism and temptation specifically in this season.
